What is Japa Meditation?
Bhakti yoga practice includes chanting the Hare Krishna mantra softly to oneself. This is called japa.

Practical tips for Japa Meditation:
1. Chant early in the morning, if possible 5 to 7 am
2. Chant along with Srila Prabhupada's japa recording
3. Chant with good chanters (when possible)
4. Record your chanting so you can hear whether you skip syllables
5. Read something from the Japa Website for inspiration
6. 
When mind wanders away, bring it back and focus on the sound
7. Turn off the mobile phone
8. Don't turn on the laptop/PC
9. Don't get into conversations unless absolutely urgent
10. 
Chant feelingly, not mechanically
11. Keep track of quality and quantity.
12. Share your realizations and quotes with a friend
13. 
Above all, pray to the Lord to improve your japa
