Learn Siksastakam
Lord Caitanya left these 8 instructional verses to aid us in developing our Bhakti, our devotional service to the Lord. Many who are inclined to making spiritual progress learn this prayer and meditate on it daily. The 1st and 3rd verses are most prominent. Both the English and Sanskrit are beautiful meditations. Following are some resources to help us learn and appreciate The Siksastakam Prayer.

The Prayer website includes English, Oriya and Devnagari scripts. The Full audio is recited by His Grace Vaisesika Das and includes both Sanskrit and English recitation - we can hear and read along daily. The Lessons Audio was brilliantly designed for teaching young children but is great for anyone.

Learn Bhagavad Gita Verses
The Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all Vedic literature. As part of our weekly discussions, we can learn these verses to supplement our understanding. The recordings are perfect for teaching children also.

Bhagavad Gita 2.12 - recording
na tv evāhaṁ jātu nāsaṁ
na tvaṁ neme janādhipāḥ
na caiva na bhaviṣyāmaḥ
sarve vayam ataḥ param
Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.

Bhagavad Gita 2.13 - recording
dehino ’smin yathā dehe
kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā
tathā dehāntara-prāptir
dhīras tatra na muhyati
As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.

Bhagavad Gita 2.14 - recording
mātrā-sparśās tu kaunteya
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ
āgamāpāyino ’nityās
tāṁs titikṣasva bhārata
O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Bhagavad Gita 2.20 - recording
na jāyate mriyate vā kadācin
nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ
ajo nityaḥ śāśvato ’yaṁ purāṇo
na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre
For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.

Bhagavad Gita 2.22 - recording
vāsāṁsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya
navāni gṛhṇāti naro ’parāṇi
tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇāny
anyāni saṁyāti navāni dehī
As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

Bhagavad Gita 4.1 - recording
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
imaṁ vivasvate yogaṁ
proktavān aham avyayam
vivasvān manave prāha
manur ikṣvākave ’bravīt
The Personality of Godhead, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvān, and Vivasvān instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikṣvāku.

Bhagavad Gita 4.34 - recording
tad viddhi praṇipātena
paripraśnena sevayā
upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ
jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.
